Very nice review of this book. I also read it, two weeks ago, because the Wired article of Chris Anderson was one of my triggers for my Master thesis. However, for my research I had to have a more scientific fundament, so I had to leave it out of my model. As a result, my research is about customization of digital goods in the Internet economy.

I argue that the Internet and the characteristics of digital products lead to more variety and can enable customization. From there I started my research framework. So my research relates mass-customization with the long tail to some extent.
