Invisalign Reaches 20 Million Milestone
Align Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALGN), the inventor of Invisalign dental devices, has reached a milestone in their history - they have recently shipped their 20 millionth Invisalign aligner.
Invisalign brand aligners are clear, removable plastic appliances used to straighten teeth in Invisalign treatment. They correct malocclusion using a series of clear, nearly invisible, removable appliances that gently move teeth to a desired final position.
Because it does not rely on the use of metal or ceramic brackets and wires, Invisalign significantly reduces the aesthetic and other limitations associated with braces.
The company, which was founded in 1997, uses proprietary technology to manufacture a series of unique Invisalign aligners for each patient. Align is one of the largest manufacturers of mass-customized products in the world.
