Tooling for Agile Manufacturing
I came across an interesting news item about research being carried out by Rhodes State College on tooling for agile manufacturing . What they are researching is tooling with a shorter development time and lifespan, so that new products can be brought to market more quickly. This is aimed at preventing ‘knock-offs’ (direct copies of existing products) from gaining market share at the expense of the original product.
