2005-08-08 - Los Angeles, CA, USA:
Buzznet Inc., developers of the social network Buzznet.com, has become the first public photo sharing community to offer customers the ability to print books and posters of their photos. The company also announced it added an online Journals feature that gives the community a chance to express themselves further by adding text posts.
Buzznet Inc. was founded in 2003 by Marc Brown and Anthony Batt, who are experts in software development, design and management of major content distribution networks. The new printing feature could be viewed as an effort to differentiate Buzznet.com from other photo sharing communities, in particular Flickr.com, which has been recently gaining ground in this sector.
"The Buzznet community has been asking for new ways to share their thoughts, both online and off," said Marc Brown, co-founder and president of Buzznet. "This is another example of our continued dedication to our community and the Buzznet social network."
In a partnership with QOOP, Buzznet members can now create and order a photo book of their images to share in the 'offline' world. The full-color books are created with a glossy laminated heavy weight paper cover and matte finished internal pages. Each book can be up to 800 pages in length and hold up to 4800 images, with titles and descriptions. Pricing is the lowest in the photo printing market, with books starting at $14.99 and posters available for $9.99.
According to Phil Wessells, president of QOOP Inc, "Buzznet is one of the most vibrant online social networks today. Our integrated one-click printing solution makes it more convenient and affordable than ever for the Buzznet community to enjoy their photos anywhere." QOOP is a start-up founded in January of 2005 to offer a variety of mass customization print tools for authors, content partners and web communities.
When users want to share more than just a photo with the community, they can now post text entries through Buzznet's new Journals feature. Users can now share links and thoughts with the rest of the social network beyond that of just sharing photos.
