OptiTex Ltd. and TUKATECH Inc. Ends Six Years of TUKATECH OEM Status

2004-08-21 - New York, USA: OptiTex LTD the parent company of OptiTex USA Inc. has announced the ending of OEM (Other Equipment Manufacturer) and distributor status for Los Angeles-based TUKATECH Inc.

Following years of business carried out between the two companies in the form of OptiTex being the CAD software provider for TUKATECH Inc products distributed under the TUKACAD brand, both companies have recently agreed to end the OEM status for TUKATECH. Yoram Burg, President of OptiTex USA Inc. stated, "It is a mutual decision for both of us, TUKATECH will continue to provide their other products and services; it just won't be built on OptiTex technology." Commenting on the reasons that led to the decision, Mr. Burg added, "Unfortunately we were not able to agree on the financial terms of our future relationship. We agreed that it would benefit both parties to pursue their corporate strategies independently."

Under the understanding reached TUKATECH will not be receiving or distributing the latest OptiTex developments including version 9 officially released in January of 2004. From that point onwards, all TUKA customers who are looking to upgrade their current version 8.93 software will have to do it through OptiTex USA Inc. OptiTex version 9 is a major upgrade to the OptiTex family of products that among other enhancements offers full networking, 3D visualization capabilities fully integrated into the pattern design environment with new and highly sophisticated auto nesting solutions, a unique visual made-to-measure software for mass customization, and over 200 new features and enhancements incorporated in the software since version 8.93.

With its NA headquarters in NYC, OptiTex will soon open an office in Los Angeles CA to support and work closely with its west coast clients, both offices will then offer training sessions as well as technical support available through the company's new web portal CRM system, which they say will ensure that customers receive the highest level of customer care and fast turnaround time on email support questions. OptiTex says that it continues to lead the industry in quick turn around on feature request and fixes via download of service packs.

Development is now underway for Optitex version 10 which is a major release, enhancing the look and structure of OptiTex software. Among other new features, this release will offer OptiTex users the ability to exchange information seamlessly across platforms such as PDM/ERP/PLM systems, as well as between OptiTex old and newer version. OptiTex states that it is now close to a major technological breakthrough in the field of 3D that will take the company to whole new level of remarkable new capabilities.
